SECO Sensor
Customized solutions for demanding measurement tasks
In modern industry and technology, the precise measurement of distances, fill levels and flow rates plays a decisive role. Ultrasonic sensor technology offers innovative and reliable solutions for this. As a leading specialist in the development and manufacture of high-quality ultrasonic transducers, SECO Sensor develops customized components that work reliably even in the most challenging environments.
Find out how our customized solutions can take your measurement technology to a new level.
A key advantage of ultrasonic sensor technology is the possibility of non-contact measurement. The object to be measured does not need to be physically contacted, which is particularly useful in sensitive or aggressive environments. Whether you want to measure distances, fill levels of liquids or gases – ultrasonic sensors work precisely and reliably without affecting the object being measured.
As a specialist in ultrasonic transducers, we are your partner for demanding measurement tasks. Our expertise begins where standard sensor solutions reach their limits. We develop and manufacture transducers that are precisely tailored to your specific requirements. Whether extreme temperatures, aggressive media or confined spaces – we will find the optimum solution for your application.
Our ultrasonic transducers for use in air and gases are used in a wide range of industrial applications:
Thanks to our flexible manufacturing processes, we can respond to almost any requirement and offer you a customized solution.
To better understand how our transducers work, let’s look at the two basic measuring principles:
Transmitter-receiver operation
In transmitter-receiver operation, two transducers face each other, one of which acts as the transmitter and the other as the receiver. The ultrasonic signal is processed by the receiving transducer. Transmitter-receiver operation is suitable for flow measurement and wind measurement, but also for double sheet control and web edge control.
Pulse-echo operation
With the pulse-echo method, the sensor communicates with itself. This means that a sound pulse is emitted, reflected and received again as an “echo”. The transit time of the ultrasonic signal is measured. This operating mode is mainly used for presence detection, distance measurement and level measurement in small and large vessels.
As a specialist in ultrasonic transducers, we are happy to take on the role of innovation partner. Managing Director
Ultrasonic sensors measure, for example, the distance to an object, its presence or state of motion, the flow of a current, wind speed or wind direction and much more. Precise ultrasonic measurement is carried out using an ultrasonic signal (typically) in the medium of air, gas or a gas mixture. A sensor will therefore emit ultrasound, which is reflected back by a reflector or detected by another sensor (receiver). Because an ultrasonic sensor measures without contact, it does not wear out and measures extremely reliably even in sensitive environments.
The proven design and well-thought-out choice of materials make our ultrasonic transducers an excellent choice for your ultrasonic sensors. For almost 30 years, we have also specialized in the uncomplicated and fast customization of our standard transducers to individual requirements. We are happy to vary the housing, contacting or additional equipment according to your wishes. We develop innovative special solutions for particularly challenging measurement tasks or extreme environmental conditions.
