Our proven standard transducers are optimized for use in numerous classic ultrasonic applications, such as presence detection, distance measurement or level measurement. We manufacture in stable processes and large quantities. Our combination of high-quality materials and an experienced team of experts enables us to produce ultrasonic transducers of the highest quality.
High-quality materials – for outstanding quality
Our aim is to build high-quality, durable and robust ultrasonic transducers with outstanding electro-acoustic properties. We pay particular attention to the four main components: piezo disk, matching material, potting compound and stranded wire. With many years of experience, we manufacture our own material for this or source it from reliable suppliers with the highest quality standards. In this way, we ensure that our customers receive only the best products – with every ultrasonic transducer that leaves our company.
Piezo disk
We source our piezoceramic transducers from selected suppliers with above-average quality standards. Our main German supplier manufactures a material specially specified for us. This is characterized by a high degree of efficiency as well as minimal geometric and electrical tolerances.
Matching material
We produce our matching material in-house according to our own proven recipes. To achieve the best possible results, we use a particularly light, pressure-resistant epoxy filled with hollow glass beads, which is subject to only minimal fluctuations compared to products from external suppliers.
Potting compound
Potting with our specially formulated, soft-elastic polyurethane foams gives your transducer both mechanical stability and excellent structure-borne sound suppression – especially in cold conditions. We use customized potting compound recipes to achieve optimum acoustic parameters, adapted to your requirements.
Stranded wire
We mainly assemble our coaxial, Teflon and PVC strands ourselves. This enables us to ensure the highest quality and implement customer-specific adaptations quickly and easily. Short delivery times are also possible for special sizes. Our direct access to the production process allows us to carry out close checks and ensure consistently high strand quality, e.g. in accordance with IPC-A-610, class 3.

Standard transducers from SECO Sensor – precision meets versatility
SECO Sensor offers a comprehensive range of standard transducers specially developed for applications in air and gaseous media. These ultrasonic transducers are characterized by their robustness and reliability, even under difficult conditions such as dust, fog or darkness.
The product range includes three types of standard transducers.
- Multi-use transducer Compact all-rounders with high echo voltage and large beam width . They are ideal for applications with short to medium ranges.
- Focused transducers: Ideal for long ranges thanks to a well-focused sound beam and small beam width. They offer high quality and echo voltage, which makes them particularly suitable for precise measurement tasks.
- Pulsed transducers: Specialists for fast measurements at close range with a very high repetition rate and short ringout time.
SECO standard transducers cover frequency ranges from 80 to 500 kHz and, depending on the type, achieve ranges from a few centimetres to several meters. Thanks to their modular design and optional adaptations, they can be flexibly adapted to specific sensor requirements.
