Ultrasonic transducers for sensors with precision and durability
Sensors are indispensable in many areas of technology, as they enable precise and reliable measurements of a wide range of parameters. Whether filling levels, gas flow or position detection: there are special measuring sensors for every application that are precisely tailored to these requirements. One particularly forward-looking area within sensor technology is the use of ultrasonic waves for non-contact measurement.
SECO Sensor specializes in the development and production of ultrasonic transducers for ultrasonic sensors. These make it possible to measure efficiently and precisely in numerous applications across the industry. With our 30 years of experience, we support leading sensor manufacturers as a technology partner in finding tailor-made solutions and optimizing the performance of their products.
Compared to other technologies, ultrasonic sensors offer a decisive advantage: they work without contact. While conventional measuring sensors usually have to be in direct contact with the measured object, ultrasonic sensors can record their measured values over a distance. This significantly reduces wear and increases the service life of the sensors. Ultrasonic sensors are therefore the ideal solution, particularly in demanding environments where robust and durable sensors are required.
Ultrasonic sensors are extremely versatile. They are used in various industries. For example, they are ideal for measuring fill levels in containers, monitoring gas flows or detecting objects in industrial processes. They offer high measurement accuracy – even in difficult environmental conditions such as dust, moisture or very high or low temperatures. Another plus: they are insensitive to the color, material and surface properties of an object, which makes them universally applicable measuring sensors.
While the working range of many other technologies is limited to a few centimetres, the use of ultrasound – depending on the transducer type – allows reliable measurements from a few centimetres to several meters. For long distances, we recommend our ultra-sharp ultrasonic transducers. Thanks to high echo voltage and a maximally focused sound beam, ranges of up to 8 meters are possible here. Particularly small distances with a minimal blind zone can be achieved with pulsed transducers or our smallest multi-use transducers.
Our range of proven ultrasonic transducers is extensive. We distinguish between directional ultrasonic transducers, pulsed transducers and multi-use transducer. The latter are our flexible all-rounders. With their well thought-out design, excellent electro-acoustic tuning and extensive customer-specific adaptability, they can solve practically any industrial measurement task. We are also happy to develop new solutions for particularly challenging measurement ideas – in close and effective cooperation with you.
Do you need support in selecting the right ultrasonic transducer? Would you like a customized adaptation or individual new development for a special measurement idea?

Managing Director
As a developer and manufacturer of transducers for ultrasonic sensors, SECO Sensor offers you both standardized and customer-specific solutions. If required, we can work with you to develop individual ultrasonic transducers that are perfectly tailored to your specific sensor requirements. Especially in complex applications, you benefit from working with us in the early development phase. In this way, we ensure that your requirements are reliably implemented right from the start and that optimization possibilities can be identified at an early stage.
Our many years of experience in ultrasonic technology, combined with our knowledge of our customers’ needs, make us a reliable partner in the development of innovative, measuring sensors. Our expertise ranges from design and development to production and support – for the sustainable and long-term success of our customers.
Our ultrasonic transducers are used in measuring sensors throughout the industry. In agriculture, for example, they enable precise level detection in silos or tanks, which is essential for optimal control of feeding or irrigation. In medical technology, ultrasonic sensors are used in highly sensitive tasks such as spirometry (lung function diagnostics) or intensive medical ventilation.
Ultrasonic technology has also established itself in the wind power industry, where particularly robust and reliable sensors are required. Among other things, they measure wind speed in order to maximize the efficiency of wind turbines. Especially in harsh environments, such as those found in offshore wind farms, the durability and maintenance-free nature of our ultrasonic transducers is a major advantage. Ultrasonic sensors also ensure a smooth production process in the printing, film and textile industries.
With over 30 years of experience in the development and production of ultrasonic transducers for measuring sensors, you can rely on our comprehensive expertise. Together with you, we develop solutions that meet the highest technical requirements. They are durable and robust – for long-term reliable use.
Rely on us as your technology partner – for precise and non-contact measurements in a wide range of applications.
In joint, individual sensor development, we adapt to your requirements. We are also happy to work outside of the usual measurement ideas, implement particularly complex or innovative projects and support our customers as an experienced and reliable technology partner.
